Dress up as your favorite sea creature and march in the fourth annual Merry Merfolk Parade Saturday, Sept. 24, in Greenport. This eclectic parade traditionally kicks off the first day of the East End Maritime Festival.
The parade is open to everyone and participants are encouraged to become their favorite aquatic alter egos. Any sea-related character is welcome, including mermaids, oysters, fish, fishermen and pirates.(more…)

• “Alterations,” an exhibit featuring work by photographers Carolyn Conrad and Sandi Daniel, will be on view Nov. 8 to Dec. 15 at Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery & Studio in Cutchogue. An artists’ reception will be held Friday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Ms. Conrad, of Sag Harbor, creates rural scenes using clay and wood, then photographs them in natural light. Ms. Daniel combines traditional and contemporary techniques and mediums to reinvent the image “into an alternate reality.” (more…)
