The annual March of the Leprechauns was held in downtown Riverhead on Saturday.
A dozen local businesses participated in the popular pub crawl, which benefits the East End Emerald Society and the Peconic Ballet Foundation. The event, now in its second year, raised money through the sale of $10 bracelets which allow participants to receive deals at local bars and restaurants.
The East End Emerald Society will host the Jamesport St. Patrick’s Day parade, set for March 19 at 2 p.m.

Polyester red beards and green beers equaled a pot of gold for local non-profits Saturday. Donning outfits colored green from head-to-toe, hundreds turned out Saturday for the inaugural St. Patrick’s Day-themed pub crawl dubbed “The March of the Leprechauns.” (more…)

Bust out your shamrock-adorned T-shirts and polyester red beards — a St. Patrick’s Day-themed pub crawl is coming to Riverhead.
Piggybacking on the success of the Santacon pub crawl in December, the event, dubbed “The March of the Leprechauns,” will raise money for the homeless outreach group Maureen’s Haven and the East End Emerald Society. The latter is raising funds to pay for pipe and drum bands in the Jamesport St. Patrick’s Day parade. (more…)
