What Information Is Collected?
While visiting the Sites, there are two types of personally identifiable information you might provide to us: (A) information that you choose to share, and (B) website use information collected by us.
Shared Information. The Sites may collect information that you provide, such as your name, phone number, street address, and e-mail address. On pages that collect personal information, we typically describe what information is required in order to provide you with that product or service.
Website Use Information. The Sites gather website usage information that may be used or shared with third parties as described below. This information may be helpful, for example, for improving the services we offer or for offering products or services to you. Generally this information is collected through traffic data reports and may entail the use of “cookies,” “beacons,” “IP addresses,” or other numeric codes used to identify a computer and/or a computer user. Cookies and beacons are data stored on your system. The use of such data helps to give you a more personalized experience at the Sites. Cookies identify you to our server, allowing you to avoid retyping your e-mail address and password each time you access the Sites, and allow us to analyze traffic on the Sites. You can refuse most cookies by turning them off in your browser, and you can also set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies. However, your browser MUST accept cookies from our site in order for registered, paid subscribers to access subscriber-only content. The Sites also log IP addresses, or the location of your computer on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes and to determine website usage. Your IP address is not necessarily a unique personal identifier.
Times Review Media Group does not knowingly request or solicit personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. In the event that we receive notice that we have inadvertently collected such personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as is practicable.
How Can You Opt Out of Providing Information?
You may “opt out” altogether from providing personal information to us by not registering on the Sites and thereby not providing personal information, or by refusing cookies or not browsing the Sites. Certain portions of the Sites and certain services provided on the Sites, however, do require registration in order to access or use these areas and services. If you choose not to register or provide certain information, these areas will not be accessible to you.
