About

Transitions Saxophone Quartet is proud to present “Sax Appeal,” a musical performance/workshop. “Sax Appeal” will explore the origins, evolution and physical structure of the saxophone from its invention in the early 1840’s to its development and eventual application in most music genres in the 20th and 21st centuries. The presentation will include a narrative that will inform and guide the listener on the journey, and a multi-media video presentation highlighting the contributions made by the artists and their music using pictures, text, and historical film footage accompanying each selection. Transitions will discuss, explore, and celebrate the artists and musicians that helped to develop, define, and validate the saxophone as an important musical instrument on a global scale.
