May 7, 2pm-The Waters that surround us- With Long Island Sound to the north and Peconic Bay to the south, not to mention nearly being bisected by the Creek, Mattituck’s history has been affected by these bodies of water. Dr. Christopher Gobler, Endowed Chair of Coastal Ecology and Conservation at SUNY Stony Brook will inform us of the changes in our marine habitat as it affects our environment, economy and recreation. Ongoing and future ecological programs will be addressed. The lecture will be held in the New Egypt school building at the Mattituck Laurel Historical Societ, corner of Main Road and Cardinal Drive, Mattituck.
