THE GOOD ADOPTEE is the riveting and outrageous true story of award-winning playwright Suzanne Bachner’s search for her birth/first parents in the face of New York State’s sealed records. Once she opens Pandora’s Box, can she integrate her dual identities and still remain the “good” adoptee? Directed by Bachner, the show will be performed by NYC-based actress Kat Nardizzi. Following the performance, there there will be a talkback that also includes Chemene Vizzi and Pamela Rothfeld, both adoptive moms and co-founders of Long Island Adoptive Families Association. Vizzi is also Conference and Production Specialist at Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York, and Rothfeld is a caseworker at You Gotta Believe – Adopting Older Kids and Youth.

THE GOOD ADOPTEE has won awards for Best Autobiographical Script and Best Actress when it premiered in NYC’s United Solo Theatre Festival and was named a Best Play by Indie Theater Now. The show has toured to the London International Fringe Festival and all over the United States, including a 7-week 9-city Connecticut tour to support the vital and now successful legislative efforts of Access Connecticut.

Theater Scene described the show as  “superior writing…a spellbinding emotional detective story”

“The Good Adoptee is everything you want a solo show to be: well-crafted, lovingly performed and thoroughly entertaining. “ Hi Drama

“Bachner’ s script took us to the point where we felt like we were right next to her heart! Nardizzi delivers jokes and emotion with the same amount of mastery”  The Young-Howze Theatre Journal
