The Art of Song: Art songs and works for solo piano including compositions by Franz Schubert, Clara Schumann, Manuel DeFalla, Antonio Soler and Komitas.
Margo Andrea, mezzo-soprano, is noted by Chicago Classical Review for “effortlessly pure intonation” and by Early Music America for her “unique voice”, and has performed with NY’s Ensemble for Early Music, New York Collegium, The University of Chicago Presents, the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Bloomington Early Music Festival, the Cloisters, Academy of Ancient Music, Bargemusic, Early Music Now Milwaukee, ALBA Consort (founder) and Long Island Baroque Ensemble. Recordings include Einstein on the Beach by Philip Glass and Robert Wilson on Sony Classics (which she toured in opera houses around the world including Opera Bobongi, Paris, Brooklyn Academy of Music and the McCarter Theater, Princton), “Music of Medieval Love” (Metropolitan Museum of Art), “Jesus Blood Never Saved Me Yet” (Gavin Breyers with Tom Waits), and the score of Kundun by Philip Glass. Theater resume includes performances with the Atlantic Theater Co. (founding member) with a highlight of “The Cider House Rules” dir. by Tom Hulse, Goodman Theater of Chicago, Lincoln Center Theater and the London Shakespeare Company.
New York based pianist-composer Hayk Arsenyan, a native of Armenia, has appeared in numerous recitals throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, in venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Palace of UNESCO and Salle Cortot (Paris), Tchaikovsky Hall and the Kremlin (Moscow), Cadillac-Shanghai Concert Hall (China), Kumin Hall (Tokyo), Petranka Mozarteum (Prague), Auditorio Delibes (Valladolid), Dar-Al-Assad Opera House (Damascus), Sala Cervantes (Havana), MoBU (Sao Paolo), Philippines National Museum (Bacolod), and televised recitals at the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago, the Phillips Collection Series in Washington DC and the Nixon Presidential Museum in Los Angeles. Mr. Arsenyan is a professor at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a lifetime member of the French Society of Authors and Composers (SACEM). Two collections of his original works were published in Paris. In 2015, he also became a member of the Composers Union of Armenia. His composition “Stratum” written for contrabass and piano is published exclusively by the Zimmermann Publications
