The annual Swing Into Spring Festival 2024 returns March 19-23, bringing with it an assortment of opportunities to hear live jazz throughout the community. Swing Into Spring events at the Jazz Loft are as follows:
Tues March 19–
Community Jazz Night will kick off with performances by The Bay Big Band; Moment’s
Notice (Carl Safina); Keenan Zach; and the Matt Godfrey Organ Trio.
7:00 PM. Tickets: $30 adults; $25 seniors; $20 students; $15 children; 5 years & younger are free.
Weds March 20–
Improvisation Techniques and Jam Session.
Workshop focused on jazz improv, followed by a jam session where musicians can collaborate on stage. With Dean Johnson, bass; Rich Iacona, piano; Tom Manuel, cornet; Ellis Holmes, drums.
4:00-5:30 PM. Tickets: $10.
Weds March 20–
Jazz concert and jam session, featuring The Jazz Loft Trio (bassist Keenan Zach & friends).
Concert at 7pm, followed by an open jam at 8pm, when jazz musicians of all ages are invited to play on stage along with fellow jazz enthusiasts.
7:00 PM. Tickets: arrive at 7:00 PM—$10; arrive at 8:00 for the open jam—$5.
Thurs March 21–
The Bad Little Big Band. The 12-piece big band, led by pianist, composer, and arranger Rich Iacona, performs the music of The Great American Songbook. Featuring vocalist Madeline Kole. With special guest Bruce Bonvissuto (trombone).
7:00 PM. Tickets: $30 adults; $25 seniors; $20 students; $15 children; 5 years & younger are free.
Fri March 22–
Dan Pugach Big Band– directed by drummer Dan Pugach.
7:00 PM. Tickets: $30 adults; $25 seniors; $20 students; $15 children; 5 years & younger are free.
Sat March 23–
Andy McKee Quintet.
