About
Bring your own kayak for a guided paddle with Peconic Land Trust of the waters off Broad Cove, a pristine 100-acre woodland on Flanders Bay. This tour will focus on the natural history and story of this property, one of the largest former duck farms from the early 1900s. Led by local birders Nancy Gilbert and Richard Wines, you’ll explore the western shoreline up through Terry’s Creek as well as the areas once inhabited by ducks. Its recent conservation by the Peconic Land Trust protects the fragile Peconic Estuary ecosystem and will soon be accessible for woodland trail exploration.
$20/person. Space is limited, reservations are required. Bring your own kayak or canoe and water bottle. Call 631.283.3195 ext. 122 to register.
