Join us for our June Overton Gallery Exhibit featuring Miranda Gatewood, a Fine Art and Editorial Photographer living on the North Fork of Long Island. Gatewood’s works have been collected by numerous galleries and museums across the United States.
Author Bio: Miranda Gatewood holds an M.F.A. in fine art photography from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Exhibiting since 1977, her language is images. Gatewood’s work has been collected by the Erie Art Museum, Erie, PA. She has won awards and was selected for national juried photography exhibits including two consecutive Long Island Biennial all media shows, The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington, NY; The Art of Photography Show, Art Institute of San Diego, CA; Ambient Light, MPLS Photo Center, Minneapolis, MN; PHOTOcentric, Garrison, NY; All New England, Cape Cod Artists Association, Barnstable, MA and The Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, NY. Gatewood has produced public art outdoor projections of words and images called “Light Murals,” for East End Arts, and “Alive on 25.” She is a recipient of a NY Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Strategic Opportunity Stipend and exhibited in the NYFA-funded East End Arts’ JumpstART program. She is currently an adjunct professor of Photography at SUNY Farmingdale State College, Farmingdale, NY and an adjunct lecturer at the University at Albany, Albany, NY.
