Join Cara on the farm for a full day immersive experience in locally grown color and the delights of the North Fork. We will walk through the Color Garden at Treiber farms, picking luscious dye flowers to process during our dye days. We will explore four dye processes from seed to fabric. This workshop will show you how to create hot extraction baths, learn the process of eco – printing, and how adding rust and pH modifiers into your practice can create a rainbow of natural hues. We will also cover different techniques to mordant your fibers. This is a wonderful class for beginners and seasoned dyers alike!
