About

East End Food Institute’s East End Food Market is now open for its second winter season at 139 Main Road in Riverhead on Saturdays, 9am-1pm, through April 29, 2023 (Closed December 24 and 31.)

With 44 area vendors, this market is the largest indoor farmers market on the East End.

The public is invited to visit the market on Saturdays to shop local farm, food, wine, and craft vendors, and to enjoy related demonstrations, and activities in partnership with local nonprofit organizations. Admission to the market itself is always free. So it’s a fun stop, if you’re driving out to the North, or South, Fork.

Founded in 2010, it is the mission of EEFI to support, promote, and advocate for the farmers, vintners, fishermen, and other food producers and providers on the East End of Long Island.

East End Food Institute (formerly Amagansett Food Institute) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds partnerships among farmers, food producers, and food consumers on the East End of Long Island. Members work together to create a more economically viable, environmentally sustainable, more efficient, and equitable local food system.

Plans are currently underway to create a multi-building East End Food Hub on this site. Images of the coming Hub are posted at the market – check it out.
