The need for food, shelter, and social services have increased substantially on the
North Fork due to the price of housing, Covid, and high
inflation. The Executive Director of CAST (the Center for Advocacy, Support and
Transformation) will discuss the services CAST provides to address food,
housing, and economic insecurity in Southold Town and on Shelter Island. The
Executive Director of Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach will
provide insights into the problem of homelessness, the need for support
services and the ways Maureen’s Haven helps the homeless in our
community.
