Join The Watermill Center to experience the healing power of art!

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Join wellness teachers Stephanie Joyce and Karen Meyer for a morning sound bath. Immersed in the vibrations of a gong, crystal bowls, and tuning forks, Joyce and Meyer will guide participants through the transition from deep relaxation into receiving the healing energy of Reiki.

Healing Arts @ The Watermill Center is a series of workshops and guided meditations offering the public the chance to explore the intersection of art and wellness. Through hands-on activities with a rotating roster of artists, the local community is invited to explore the healing power of art in a communal and experimental setting.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Stephanie Joyce is an artist and certified yoga, and meditation teacher. She studied at Omega Institute, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and Parmath Niketan, India. Through mindfulness practices she discovered a new way of being in the world and inner peace. This gave her a desire to share with her community. Joyce has led meditation, yoga and intuitive painting groups for the Community Mindfulness Project in CT, IB Global Conferences, Columbia University Hospital Integrative Healing Program, The Retreat Center for Domestic Violence, Shou Sugi Ban House, and has designed and led a corporate wellness program for Aksia Research which included meditation, yoga, art and nutrition.

Stephanie Joyce has been a life-long artist and studied at Parsons School of Design. Her work has been exhibited throughout the country and in Europe. The focus of her art is to create meditative environments that honor the natural world and enrich the soul.

Karen M. Meyer (M.A.) is well-renowned as a teacher, adventurer, and healer. As the owner of Moonheart Healing Arts, in the heart of New York City, she has created a refuge for those seeking peace and clarity on their life’s journey amidst these difficult times.

Meyer specializes in assessing the strengths of her students and custom-designing a learning plan that empowers each student to thrive both inside and outside of her classroom. In this capacity, she has worked with special education students in elementary school and in high school, as well as acting as an advocate for these students with other faculty members, parents and the community at large. Additionally, Meyer has taught countless students body/mind techniques such as yoga, meditation, stress reduction, diet and nutrition, addiction cessation techniques, and healthy lifestyle choices.
