The Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society is hosting a lecture entitled “From Potatoes to Agribusiness.” October 16, 2022- 2:00 pm. From its start as an unremarkable farm whose main crop was the then ubiquitous Long Island Potato, to the multi-faceted enterprise that it is today, the Harbes story is one of the most successful in Mattituck business history. Hear how this family, through the generations, adeptly transformed itself to meet the challenges of the past decades.
