IMPORTANT UPDATE: DUE TO RAIN AND HIGH WINDS FORECAST THE EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO APRIL 19, 2025 11AM. 

In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the battle at Lexington & Concord, the Sons of the American Revolution will be dedicating a plaque in honor of the ten Revolutionary War Veterans interred at the Cutchogue Old Burying Ground. This will be an early semiquincentennial event.

There will be a brief history of the grounds, a speech by the town supervisor, and a roll call with a musket-fired salute by Revolutionary War Soldier reenactors for each veteran. Refreshments will be served. The names of the veterans to be honored are: Major Joshua Benjamin (1747-1804); Jonathan Horton (1730-1797); Capt. Daniel Osborn (1713-1779); Daniel Osborn  (1741-1801); Gershom Terry  (1754-1805); Jonathan Terry  (1727-1799); James Webb (1739-1798); John Wells  (1729-1797); Phineas Wells (1750-1783) Timothy Wells       (1753-1790). Presented by the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council and Museums. April 12, 2025, 11 am,  Old Burying Ground, Cutchogue, corner of Harbor Lane and Main Road.
