Local stakeholders in the food and beverage industry on Long Island, including agricultural stakeholders, will take part in this important and timely discussion. Dr. Michael P. Hoffman, Executive Director Emeritus of the Cornell Institute for Climate Smart Solutions and Professor Emeritus will be our special guest. He is co-author of “Our Changing Menu: Climate Change and the Foods We Love and Need”. Dr. Hoffman’s presentation will unpack the relationships between food and climate change. The discussion to follow will address the impacts of climate change on our local producers, actions we can take to mitigate those impacts, and community led grassroots plans to protect our planet. This event will take place on Monday, June 6th at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
