About

Art and wine go hand-in-hand and every season at Chronicle Wines, we feature the work of a beloved East End Artist. This summer, Chronicle Wines and Chris Hamilton Photography present, “Surface”- An exploration of water and light.

The show kicks off on Saturday, July 22 with a reception from 2-5 pm at Chronicle Wines. Come view (and shop) the show, get to know the artist, sip on discounted wines by the glass, and enjoy complimentary bites.

As a commercial fisherman, and native north forker, it is no surprise that “water” is a consistent theme in Hamilton’s photography. From sunrises on the bay, to sunsets on the sound, and everything in between, the natural beauty of the east end and its waterways, never ceases to inspire. “Surface” is a stunning collection of Hamilton’s abstract imagery. With a focus on color and texture, visitors will be transported into a world of water and light, as only a passionate artist could create. This truly unique showcase of photography is a visual meditation on the peace and tranquility many of us find when we are on or near water.

About The Artist:

Chris Hamilton was born and raised on the East End of Long Island, in the beautiful village of Greenport. Chris is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he studied Environmental Science and Marine Affairs. He currently works as a commercial fisherman with his father, aboard their fishing vessel “Jeremy H”. Chris’ photography is inspired by his love and respect of the natural environment, as well as his unique perspective as a bayman. It is this unique perspective that provides the backdrop for much of Chris’ photography. It is no wonder that ‘Water’ is a consistent theme in his art. Custom artwork and prints are available at multiple sizes on various mediums including aluminum, acrylic, canvas, and framed and matted prints.
