When Women Wore Whales Exhibit

Through a display of 19th-century photographs, fashion magazine plates, whaling tools, parasols, corsets, and exquisite dresses from our collection showcasing the changes in fashion from 1820 to 1920, this exhibit explores the fascinating and vital role the U.S. whaling industry played in the world of 19th-century fashion. In our Weathervane Gallery until December 2019. Curated by Richard Doctorow.
