The lineup for this summer’s series of Dances in the Park has been announced and approved by the Greenport Village Board. The popular village concert series will present a different act in Mitchell Park each Monday night during the summer months.
The concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and there is no cost to attend.

Get ready to point those toes: A new type of ballet class has come to the North Fork.
In January, Dance Center of Mattituck began offering 45-minute classes during which all the movement is performed at the barre. In a typical ballet class, the first half is spent on barre work and the latter is dedicated to floor movements, according to instructor Regan Batuello, who teaches the classes under the banner of her business, “The Barre Room.”(more…)

The dining room in First and South restaurant once again became a dance floor on Monday as dance instructor Blake Dowling returned for a new season of swing dancing lessons.
Continuing every Monday night through October and November, participants can learn West Coast Swing basics and beyond. All are welcome, whether you are taking your first lesson or improving on what you already know. You do not need a partner.
“We’re excited to get to the point in the year where we can bring the community together and host special activities in our dining room,” said First and South owner Sarah Phillips. “It’s fun to get together with locals and colleagues in this way.” (more…)
