It’s a weekend filled with music, movies, poetry and a multitude of something-for-everyone events like karaoke, a celebration of the ospreys’ return to the East End and a hot chili cook-off. Have fun with family and friends as spring begins!

THURSDAY

The North Fork Audubon Society hosts this program from 10-11 a.m. which trains volunteers how to safely rescue and transport injured wildlife. Free; to register click here

This Chili cook-off brings the heat from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with a prize for the best chili. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids 3-10, free for kids 3 and under, and includes chili samples, cornbread, soft drinks, and cookies; BYO alcoholic drinks if you desire. SUNDAY

Return of the Osprey Celebration | Mattituck Park District, 11280 Peconic Bay Blvd., Mattituck, 631-298-9103

This annual celebration, rescheduled from last weekend, welcomes the osprey back to the North Fork at 12 noon at Breakwater Beach. The free family event will include an osprey nesting platform installation, a beach clean-up, children’s activities, and more. For more details look here.
