The holiday season is in full swing and that means it’s okay to eat All. Of. The. Cookies. While the tradition of making your own is sweet, there are many North Fork bakeries, markets and home bakers that do the work for you. Here are some of our go-to spots across the North Fork and what cookies we’re ordering at each.

  1. Gingerbread | Gingerbread University

This kind of cookie isn’t just for decorating, the gingerbread at Gingerbread University is delicious. Insider’s tip: ask for a “brokens bag” so you can snack on cookie bites while making some edible art.

2. Mantecaditos | Bori Bakes

These Puerto Rican shortbread cookies are sweet but not too sweet and perfectly buttery. Our favorite is the guava, adding a nice balance in texture to the shortbread.

Find this dessert truck parked at North Fork events throughout the season and when you do, don’t sleep on the snickerdoodle cookies that can be found in their cookie box.

Also called seven-layer cookies, North Fork Flour Shoppe baker Meghan Saccone soaks her rainbow cookie filling in an amaretto-almond simple syrup giving them a subtle taste of holiday spirit.
