Admit it — you’ve already thought about the holiday season this year. We know, it’s not even Halloween, but the holiday season has a way of sneaking up on us, and preparation begins early!

To that end, the Center for Advocacy, Support & Transformation’s (CAST) third annual North Fork Festival of Trees is fast approaching. From Nov. 18–20, CAST will transform Treiber Farms in Peconic into a winter wonderland with beautifully designed trees decorated by artists, businesses and other North Fork denizens.

Designers are encouraged to choose a theme and get creative. For example, last year’s event featured curated trees like a pollinator-friendly tree by the Peconic Land Trust and another featured handmade ornaments honoring iconic figures by TouchGOODS.

This lovely and festive tradition benefits CAST’s mission to “promote self-sufficiency and provide a safety net for Southold Town residents in need.”

The North Fork Festival of Trees is open to all, with music, refreshments and photo ops with the trees, making for a fun, family friendly holiday outing. Designer’s Choice and People’s Choice Award winning trees will be auctioned off along with local art to the highest bidders to benefit CAST and winning bidders can have a fully-decorated tree delivered to their home or office.

Because the Festival of Trees is earlier this year, the deadline to sign up to decorate a tree is Oct. 15 and the decorating period will be Nov. 11–14. Those interested in decorating one of 22 pre-lit trees should contact Anne Kneuer at [email protected].

The 3rd Annual North Fork Festival of Trees will be held from Nov. 18–20 at Treiber Farms, 38320 Route 48, Peconic.
