The Ruth Oliva Preserve at Dam Pond is a slice of heaven in East Marion.
The pristine grounds are part of an 118-acre collection of conserved land named in honor of Ruth Oliva, whose life’s work was devoted to the protection and preservation of the area’s open spaces and its natural resources.
A quick jaunt on a wooded trail brings you to the shores of Dam Pond, but be sure to stop and listen along the way. This is a birder’s paradise, with songbirds, shorebirds and more often sighted here.
