Golden Earthworm Farm | Photography by Michelina Da Fonte

While it may seem odd to call a farm that’s been operating for almost 30 years hidden, its location away from Main Road and Sound Avenue mean that unless you take the road less traveled, you may miss Golden Earthworm Organic Farm.

Tucked back away from the street on Peconic Bay Boulevard in Jamesport, it was the North Fork’s first certified organic farm.

Follow the tree-lined driveway on the north side of the road back to the farm shop. Here you’ll find unique woven baskets, honey, maple syrup and some of the most beautiful organic veggies you’ve ever seen. Open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., this shop’s limited hours are worth it.

Golden Earthworm has an in-demand CSA that keeps their farm flourishing. It’s frequently sold out so make sure to sign up for the newsletter in order to find out when spots open. In previous years, owners Maggie Wood and Matt Kurek have featured farm tours and they’re hoping to bring them back in the near future.

If you’re looking to just visit without joining, feel free to bring the kids and let them play on the swing while you shop.

Whatever you come for, know you’ll leave having found it at this “hidden” North Fork farm.
