There’s a certain calmness that comes over you as soon as you step onto the grounds at Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue in Baiting Hollow.
The three-acre farm is home to rescued horses, donkeys, cows, ducks, turkeys, guinea hens, pigs and goats, each given a new lease on life by owner Marisa Striano.
In turn, the animals are also helping humans heal through therapy and grief programs that help those struggling with loss or trauma.
