There’s a chill in the air as the leaves begin to change. Even the grayest, dreariest days can serve as the perfect backdrop for a burst of fall color.

We recently walked Downs Farm Preserve in Cutchogue to get some fresh air and admire the landscape.

The 51-acre preserve, a former Native American settlement, features a meandering, mile-long path that leads you through scenic woodlands and tidal wetlands along Downs Creek.
