Wondering what your budget can get you on the red-hot North Fork real estate market? We’re here to help, home buyers. In our biweekly column, we spotlight homes for sale in hamlets across the North Fork at various price points.

When Q2 real estate market reports rolled in recently, one of the hottest places to buy on the North Fork was Southold: the hamlet saw average home prices rise to $1,185,042, up from $667,277 a year ago.

This area’s popularity is no mystery, as Southold residents have access to the beaches of Long Island Sound, Southold Bay and Goose Creek, a convenient location and an increasingly lively downtown area (check out the newly opened Southold General on Einstein Square).

Here’s a look at five homes you can buy right now in Southold.

What do you get in Southold when money is no object? This huge 8-acre compound on Southold Bay featuring more than 150 feet of private beach frontage and a 9,600 square feet of living space. The five bedrooms all have en suite baths and the winding, tree-lined driveway, double-staircase foyer and floor-to-ceiling windows will attract a buyer with a flair for drama. It’s listed by Corcoran for $10 million.
