Anthony Nappa of Rapheal Vineyards and BRG’s sommelier Paulo Villella tried various wines to come up with the 2021 Teller Celebrations blend (credit: Felicia LaLomia).

Who doesn’t love a great steak and a good bottle of red? Almost no one, dads included. Bohlsen Restaurant Group, known for their Long Island steakhouses Tellers and Prime, are collaborating with Raphael Vineyards winemaker Anthony Nappa on a custom bottle called the Tellers Celebration Red.

On a day back in April at Raphael Vineyards, Nappa and BRG’s sommelier Paulo Villella wandered from barrel to barrel, tasting wine after wine. Words like “It really bursts” and “that’s pretty bold” were exchanged as the two tinkered with different blends. In beakers and long viles. different percentages of aging reds were tested until they landed on the perfect blend — cabernet sauvignon for structure, petit verdot for dark fruit and tannins, cabernet franc for notes of blueberries and violets, malbec for intense aromatics and merlot for a drinkable wine to be savored.

The perfect pairing for a big, bold blend like that is a juicy steak. Luckily, BRG has got that covered too. Their King of the Grill Butcher Box is a full grill kit that comes with two 16-ounce 21 day dry-aged NY strip steaks, one 40-ounce 21 day dry-aged NY cowboy ribeye and two eight-ounce filet mignon steaks. And that’s just the meat. To compliment, there’s the horseradish cream, au poivre sauce, Tellers steak sauce and the chef’s secret dry rub. You can even upgrade the box to add a 38-ounce dry-aged porterhouse for two. It’s the perfect gift for the dad who loves grilling or the dad who just loves a good steak and wine (or both!).

The Celebration blend can be purchased for $50 and shipped to you or picked up locally at Raphael Vineyards. The grill kit for $400 can also be shipped right to your home or picked up at Tellers in Islip. Visit www.centralmarketbybrg.com and order by June 17 for a Father’s Day delivery.
