For most of 2020, it was unclear if we would ever be able to hear the sweet tunes of live music again. There’s something so nostalgic and summer-y about sitting outside just as the sun is dipping below the trees in a folding beach chair, icy beverage in one hand, a hot dog or fresh slice of pizza in the other, surrounded by locals alike. In summer 2021, we will get that feeling again.

Mattituck

The Mattituck Park District just announced it will host a summer concert series with five dates and bands. Admission and parking are free, and these shows are open to the public (meaning you don’t need a Mattituck park district pass to go!).

All shows will be at Veteran’s Beach Park in Mattituck from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each concert features a different band or musician ranging from local favorite Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks to a Latin salsa 9-piece band for Labor Day. Here are all the musicians and shows:

Friday, July 2 – Quartet Salonnières – Classical String Quartet

Saturday, July 17 – The Eagle River Band – A Tribute to the Eagles

Friday, Aug. 6 – Butterfly Cody Experience

Saturday, Aug. 21 – Gene Casey & the Lone Sharks

Sunday, Sept. 5 – Tito Batista & the Rosa Negra Orchestra

The series is funded by sponsorships from local businesses and vendors will be there selling food and beverages. Get there early, as parking is limited.
