It’s easy to find a farm stand the North Fork, but knowing which produce to get where is what differentiates visiting the North Fork and truly knowing the North Fork. Use our cheat sheet to find all the best stuff.

1. Tomatoes from Cooper Farms, 2200 Breakwater Road, Mattituck

Simply called “the customer favorite” variety, this tomato tops our charts.

2. Strawberries from Patty’s Berries and Bunches, 410 Sound Ave., Mattituck

Shop the stand or pick your own mouthwatering strawberries beginning in June. (The strawberry ice cream is divine, too.)

3. Eggs from Browder’s Birds, 4050 Soundview Ave., Mattituck

Meander down Soundview Avenue in Mattituck to the very end and you’ll find this egg, poultry, and fiber farm with the cutest little farm stand.

4. Blueberries from Bhavana Berries, 4395 Hortons Lane, Southold

This off-the-beaten-path organic blueberry orchard is open to the public for U-pick from July to early September. Their berries are the juiciest we’ve ever had.

5. Corn from Country View Farm Stand, 57995 Main Road, Southold

While this Main Road farm stand is a one-stop shop, its corn is a must-have farm stand item. Ears are kept behind the counter, so ask when you check out.

6. Horseradish from Schmitt’s Family Farm, 3355 Sound Ave., Riverhead

Holy Schmitt’s is the Holy Grail of horseradish. The spicy root vegetable condiment comes in many varieties such as beet, cranberry, hot pepper and more.

7. Asian Greens & Cabbages from Sang Lee Farms, 25180 Route 48, Peconic

Everything that this certified organic farm grows is top-notch, but their Asian greens and cabbages are our favorite on the Fork.

8. Peaches from Wickham’s Fruit Farm 28700 Main Road, Cutchogue

For the very best peach you’ll ever eat look no further than Wickham’s Fruit Farm, a family business for 170 years.

9. Melon from Wesnofske Farms, 36540 Route 48, Peconic

Nothing tastes more like summer than melon and Wesnofske Farms is our go-to for drip-down-your-arm watermelon and cantaloupe.

10. Zucchini & Summer Squash from Wowak Farms, 2805 Main Road, Laurel

Simply grilled with a touch of olive oil and topped with sea salt and you’ve got yourself the best North Fork lunch there is.

11. Flowers & Oysters from Latham Farms, 20055 Main Road, Orient

Yep, you read right. At Latham Farms we find it impossible to resist the homegrown bunches of peonies, zinnias, dahlias and sunflowers. And if you’re lucky, the stand may also have freshly harvested Oysterponds oysters available.
