Each week, we will be spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork as more open up. Surrey Lane Vineyard Orchard Farms is open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and stays open to apple season through mid-October.

Name: Surrey Lane Vineyard Orchard Farms

History: Owners David and Liz Shanks purchased the property in December 2011 and opened the farm stand on Memorial Day 2012. They purchased a bus chassis and built the stand on top of it. There, they practice what they like to call Frequency Farming. Everything is planted with the intention of love, and they often play love songs and classical music for seedlings in the green house, believing that plants respond to the vibration of love and music just as people do. The Shanks hope to share that love in a way that customers can see and taste.

What they are offering: Eggplant, onions, garlic and shallots, strawberries, blueberries, black berries, ground cherries, peaches, nectarines, corn, shishito peppers, bell peppers, red and yellow cherry tomatoes, beefsteak and heirloom  tomatoes, red and gold beets, carrots, cucumbers, green beans, zucchini, a variety of potatoes and flowers. They also sell their wine varieties which include sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris, pinot blanc, rosé, cabernet franc and merlot.

What they will be offering: Broccoli, sweet potatoes, winter squash, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and a wide variety of apples that include: Macouns, Dandee Reds, Honeycrisp, Fujis, Gala, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. As a special treat for fall, caramel and chocolate apples will be available at the stand that are made by North Fork Chocolate Company.
