Each week, we will be spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork as more open up. Gabrielsen’s Country Farm is open everyday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Jamesport from mid-March to Christmas Eve.

Name: Gabrielsen’s Country Farm

History: Gabrielsen’s Country Plant Farm was started by George Gabrielsen and his brother Tom in 1969 when they were just teenagers. It’s still a family operation: George’s wife Janice custom makes all of the farm’s popular planters, and daughters Kristina and Stephanie are the head grower and head of inventory and supply, respectively.

What they offer: For the late Summer/Fall season, Gabrielsen’s carries a large selection of hardy mums, Montauk daisies, ornamental cabbage and kale, asters, perennials, hydrangeas, sweet corn, tomatoes, and jams.

What they will be offering: At Gabrielsen’s every season is different so they start in the spring with flower annuals, perennials, shrubs, and tropicals. Summer is the largest perennial and hydrangea season, and during the fall season hardy mums and daisies are popular, along with roasted sweet corn, pumpkins and apples. During Thanksgiving, they offer autumn centerpieces and wreaths and poinsettias for the holiday season.
