Nothing pairs quite like an ice cold cocktail and a glorious North Fork sunset. Now, there’s a new way to enjoy both.
Sound View in Greenport is launching Low Tide Beach Bar, inspired by the movement of the ocean tides.
“The name Low Tide was inspired by one of my favorite memories as a kid where I would walk the beach during low tide and take in all of the discoveries of the day, only to have them disappear as the tide would roll in, then to find new discoveries the next day,” owner Erik Warner said. “It was a time of reflection and a time of discovery for me. In this environment of COVID, Low Tide seemed appropriate.”
The design of the bar takes inspiration from driftwood.
“It feels natural, like the beaches of the North Fork, but more importantly, a place where the community can safely gather in a relaxed environment to enjoy sunset and the sea,” Warner said.
The bar, currently open Thursday through Monday from 4 to 11 p.m., is open to the public, but reservations are a must. Along with this new launch, Sound View Hotel is also partnering with Death & Co, a Manhattan-based cocktail bar with locations all around the U.S., to create a cocktail menu.
“With them joining forces with us this summer, they have created special cocktails inspired by the beach, the sea and the most amazing nightly sunsets, to create a significant, meaningful experience for our guests,” Warner said.
This specialized cocktail menu is currently available at Sound View Hotel’s other bar venues and will launch at Low Tide Beach Bar on July 1 and be available through the summer.
“The Death & Co team will work with the very skilled Halyard bar team on developing unique drinks experiences across all venues at Sound View,” Warner said. “The menus will feature eight Death & Co favorites, as well as twists on classic cocktails reflective of summertime in the North Fork.”
The Low Tide Beach Bar menu will also include a list of other cocktails, local beer and wine and a selection of small bites.
