The Long Island Farm Bureau, in an effort to encourage people to shop local during uncertain times, has compiled a list of agricultural availability during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The list is a guide to what farm stands are open for shopping or curbside pickup. It also includes shellfish operations, poultry and dairy farms and wineries.
Some of the info provided includes how to call ahead, links to websites, shipping discounts and other information provided by the farms.
“Thank you to the farmers still farming for working so hard to make your products available to consumers,” LIFB said in a Facebook post.
The list was compiled with help from East End Food Institute and Peconic Land Trust.
We at northforker urge you to visit the site for the most up to date and complete information, but have shared the list as it appeared Friday to give our readers a sense of just how many places are operating and eager for your business. Click the who’s open and where to find them button for more.
Stay safe, eat well and shop local!
