Every year at this time, we present spring watch, a recurring roundup of seasonal business reopenings.
While this year presents a whole separate set of circumstances and many businesses deemed non-essential remain closed, we are still happy to see some of our favorite farm stands and markets opening back up for the season.
Here’s a list of six local businesses that reopened recently or have announced the date when they will return.
Bayview Market & Farms is open daily
Bayview Market & Farms is back open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This farm market is a great one-stop-shop for produce, grocery items, flowers, baked goods and more.

Briermere Farms is open on Saturday and Sunday
For those who need that pie fix, Briermere Farms has been reopening on Saturdays and Sundays in April from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. offering frozen pies and cookies. However, you’ll want to check their Facebook page for updates on their hours and offerings as they’ve been selling out quickly.

1760 Homestead Farm is open daily
In addition to local produce, homemade grape pie, heirloom horseradish, and farm-fresh eggs are a few of the products 1760 Homestead Farm is offering. This farm stand is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Schmitt’s Farm Stand on Sound is open daily
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this farm stand is stocked with produce, bread, meat, flowers and more. Call ahead and place your order for curbside delivery.

Breitenbach Farms will open Friday, April 24
This Main Road farm stand will be reopening for its second season in Aquebogue on Friday, April 24 and will be launching same-day delivery service, as well.

Hallock’s Cider Mill will open Thursday, May 7
Homemade pies, bread, cookies, jams, chowder and more return on Thursday, May 7. Check Hallock’s Cider Mill’s Facebook page for updates.
