Each week, we will be spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork as more open up.
Country View Farm Stand officially opened for the season on April 1 after many of their customers were eager to shop in a more local and open atmosphere.
Name: Country View Farm Stand
Year founded: 2011
History: Kevin Polak is a fourth generation farmer on the North Fork and grew up farming in Aquebogue, where his brother still has 125 acres. Now, he, along with his wife Donna, own 15 acres of land where they grow their stock for their farm stand.
What they are offering: Although they don’t have much local produce because it’s too early, they do have produce they have brought in, plus cheeses, fresh baked pies, breads and pound cakes, jams, jellies, sauces and more.
What they will offer: In the coming months, they expect to have peas, spinach, asparagus, leeks, lettuce, strawberries and more.
