Suhru Wines announced a new addition to its lineup this week — canned pinot grigio and rosé.

As an additional way to sell two wines already in its library, the Cutchogue winery hopes the canned options will allow for easier transportation of the product.

“We want our customers to be able to enjoy our wines with ease, wherever they go,” said Shelby Hearn, director of sales and marketing, in a press release. “Especially given that we are located on the North Fork, being able to take a can of wine to the beach or bring a cooler of wine cans to a barbecue is a no brainer — it just makes sense.”

Each can holds 375 milliliters of wine, the equivalent of half a bottle or two large glasses of wine.

Suhru joins the likes of Bridge Lane and Pindar Vineyards as the latest North Fork winery to produce the easily chilled and transportable medium for wine.

“At Suhru, our goal has always been to create food-friendly, approachable wines from the varieties we love,” said owner-winemaker Russell Hearn. “We pride ourselves on making high quality, affordable wines that can be enjoyed on any occasion, so offering wine in cans was the next logical step.”
