There are a lot of great food and wine events across the North Fork each year. The best ones, in this writer’s opinion, are the events that bring together two or more of of our favorite purveyors in one space at a reasonable price.

I lose my mind every spring at Rotary Uncorked in Riverhead, for example, and the official start of fall for me is the Land and Sea Gala in Greenport.

But there are still a bunch of smaller gatherings that mesh great local wine with tasty bites. This fall, I wanted to give a shout out to one of them.

Looking at the lineup for Sparkling Pointe’s upcoming Food and Wine series, it’s sure to be a winner.

The winery, which any Long Island sparkling wine lover counts among its favorites, is partnering with more than a half dozen local restaurants and artisan food purveyors for a really fun series that kicks off this weekend and runs through the end of the year.

Among the partners they’ve aligned with are top spots like 8 Hands Farm, Opties & Dinghies, Main Road Biscuit Co. and North Fork Shack.

The seatings are in one-hour blocks from noon to 4 p.m..

Check out the full lineup below and book your spot.

Doughnuts for Grown Ups

Saturday, Nov. 16

North Fork Doughnut Co. is bringing its magical baked treats to the winery for a tasting that includes a three-wine flight paired with three mini-doughnuts for $25.

Charcuterie & Cheese

Saturday, Nov. 23

All Sparkling Pointe had to do was tell us 8 Hands Farm was bringing its charcuterie to the winery and we were in, then they went on to reveal Catapano Dairy Farm is bringing its cheese to the $35 three-wine tasting, too! How dare you, Sparkling Pointe?

Comfort Food

Saturday, Nov. 30

Our friends at Main Road Biscuit Co. in Jamesport are cooking up fried chicken and mac and cheese for this unique $35 three-wine tasting menu.

Sparkling Pointe is located at 39750 Route 48 in Southold.

Long Island Duck

Saturday, Dec. 7

If you’ve never eaten Long Island Duck, having it prepared in this setting by the great folks at North Fork Shack is the best way you could do it. And if you already like to indulge in it, you know this is the perfect time of year to get it on your plate. For $40, you can pair duck with three wines.

Dim Sim Dumplings

Saturday, Dec. 14

Do any three words go together better than Dim + Sum + Dumplings? New in 2019, the Orient eatery Opties & Dinghies is bringing its delectable treats west to the winery for a $30 tasting that includes three wines and six dumplings.

Batter and Bubbles

Saturday, Dec. 21

East on Main in Mattituck is offering a new brunch it’s taking on the road called Batter and Bubbles. Sparkling Pointe is a perfect spot for the latter. The $30 tasting includes three wines and three mini-waffles with “the works.”

Oysters and Caviar

Saturday, Dec. 28

Pearl Street Caviar and Thatch Island oyster farm will head east for a $40 three-wine tasting that includes caviar and a half-dozen oysters at the winery.
