The 30th annual East End Maritime Festival returns to Greenport this weekend with an opening-day parade, fair vendors, live music and more.

The three-day celebration of the village’s maritime history kicks off with the Land & Sea Gala on Friday, Sept. 20. The festival continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22.

See some of the event highlights below. In addition to these scheduled events, there will also be a classic boat exhibit and the tall ship Columbia will be docked in the harbor, as well as other displays and demonstrations happening throughout the weekend.

Friday, Sept. 20

One of the most anticipated North Fork parties of the year, the annual Land and Sea Gala at Greenport Yacht & Shipbuilding Co. gets the festival started Friday night. Local restaurants will be serving up bites paired with local wines, spirits and brews. This year participants include American Beech, Lenz Winery, Lucharitos, North Fork Table, Southold Fish Market, and many more. Guests can also expect dancing. Saturday, Sept. 21

10 a.m.: The festival gets underway.

11 a.m.: The Merry Merfolk will make their way down Main and Front streets beginning at 11 a.m. during the opening Maritime Festival Parade. Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite sea creature. Also, be on the lookout for the new Merry Merfolk Boat Float.

3 p.m.: Kayak races on the Mitchell Park waterfront.

7 to 9 p.m.: DJ and dancing on the Mitchell Park waterfront.

Mystic Whaler Harbor Cruises depart from the Railroad Dock at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. To reserve a seat; mysticwhalercruises.com/schedule

Bug Light Cruise & Tours depart at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Check-in is at the Seaport Museum.

Sunday, Sept. 22

10 a.m.: The festival opens for the final day.

Noon: Chowder Contest at Greenport Yacht & Shipbuilding Co. on Carpenter Street.

2 p.m.: Snapper Contest for children ages 9 to 16 at Mitchell Park village dock.

4 p.m.: Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary Dream Green drawing at Mitchell Park. Dream Green is a raffle supporting the work of SBELIH. Tickets may be purchased at elih.com or by phone, 631-477-5463. The grand prize is $50,000.

5: p.m.: Festival closing

Mystic Whaler Harbor Cruises depart at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. from the Railroad Dock. Ticket information.
