You’re going to need a bigger blanket! Macari Vineyards is hosting Movie by the Moonlight on the lawn of its Cutchogue winery with the vines as a backdrop to the classic summertime thriller.
The 1975 Steven Spielberg film depicts a giant, man-eating great white shark attacking beachgoers on a New England summer resort town, leading many to steer clear of the shores. Luckily, the vineyard is a safe haven for award winning wine and satisfying eats during the showing Monday, Aug. 5.
Guests will be treated to a barbecue courtesy of Ammirati’s of Love Lane. The menu includes summertime favorites, such as burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken and fresh salad starting at 6:30 p.m. Water or soda will be available as well.
Following the cookout, attendees snuggle up on their blankets or lawn chairs for a showing of movie, beginning at dusk.
“We just thought it would be a fun event to have,” Steve Ammirati, owner of Ammirati’s of Love Lane said. “Especially with this week being ‘Shark Week’ [on the Discovery Channel].”
Adult tickets for the cost $40, and include the barbecue and a glass of Macari wine or a pint of Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. Summer Ale. Tickets for children 12 and under are $20. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase, no outside food or alcohol is permitted.
Tickets are available for purchase at Ammirati’s of Love Lane located at 135 Love Ln, Mattituck.
