Health and beauty from the inside out is the mission of holistic wellness company No Faux Mindful Beauty & Wellness. Owner and Wading River resident Mariela Amato is a certified yoga instructor, meditator and makeup artist advocating wellness through mindfulness, movement and toxin-free beauty and skincare treatments.

A series of health problems, including postpartum depression, lead the native of Ecuador and former New York City cosmetologist to explore holistic care three years ago. She started with meditation, became certified and began working with other neighborhood mothers.

“I realized that everything starts with the mindset,” Amato said. “I felt I wanted to do something to give back to the female community, holistically and through self-empowerment.”

Founded in January, No Faux — not fake, in French — takes an uplifting and relaxed approach to wellness. No experience is required to participate in the private and group-guided meditations and yoga classes it offers. Services also include “green,” toxin-free airbrush makeup application and customizable workshops comprised of spa treatments and paint and sip classes with either wine or tea.

“All the services focus on re-energizing women from the inside,” she said. “It is all about self love and tuning in with your body.”

This summer, No Faux Mindful Beauty & Wellness has partnered with Palmer Vineyards in Riverhead to host Flow + Glow + Unwind workshops among the vines. The first one is this Saturday, July 27, featuring holistic wellness activities and beauty advice. The two-hour class includes pilates fusion flow, guided meditation and a tutorial on making your own organic herbal face mask.

“There are so many benefits to meditation and mindfulness,” Amato said. “Women are so stressed and the classes are a place of community where women can relax and learn techniques for long term wellness.”

Participants also get complimentary glass of Palmer wine and a goody bag of healthy snacks and products. It’s a 21+ event and it’s recommended class-goers bring a mat, towel and bottle of water.

There are two more Flow + Glow + Unwind workshops scheduled for Saturday, August 31 and Saturday, September 21. In addition to mediation, pilates and facial masks, each session will be a little different. The August class will focus on “Self-Expression and Creativity” and will feature how-tos on holistic beauty and methods such as aromatherapy. The September class’s theme is “Female Beauty, Power and Empowerment” and will feature a guest holistic aesthetician and makeup artist for tutorials and advice.

Tickets are $40; get the details here.
