Here on the North Fork, Dances in the Park is tops for live music. The weekly Monday night concert series has become almost synonymous with summertime in Greenport for its rocking bands and stunning waterfront backdrop.

But the North Fork isn’t the only corner of Long Island with live outdoor music series’ come summer. From Montauk to Jones Beach, here are a few series’ to check out.

Monday Night Concerts on the Montauk Village Green

Enjoy live music each Monday night in July and August on the picturesque Montauk Village Green. Presented by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, each week features a new band playing a variety of genres. The free shows begin at 6:30 p.m. in July and 6 p.m. in August.

Downtown Rocky Point’s Summer Concert Series

Four concerts will be held at St. Anthony’s of Padua Parish in downtown Rocky Point throughout July and August. The concerts feature tribute bands playing hits by the Beatles, Billy Joel and more. The Tuesday concerts run through August 27. Music starts at 7 p.m.

Port Jefferson Brewing Co. Wednesday Night Concert Series 

Enjoy Long Island craft beer while listening to live music in Port Jefferson. Port Jeff Brewing Co. hosts a free concert series each Wednesday through August. The family-friendly shows run from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

East Quogue Village Green Concert Series

The Village Green in East Quogue will come alive throughout July with five concerts. Presented by the East Quogue Civic Association, East Quogue Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Southampton, this concert series features bands in different styles each week, from rock to motown and beyond. The shows will take place every Tuesday in July starting at 7 p.m.

Tiki Joe’s Beach Club Live Music

Tiki Joe’s Beach Club will be hosting free concerts throughout the summer at their locations at Smith Point Beach in Shirley, Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton, Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, Meschutt Beach in Hampton Bays, and Captree Boat Basin in Babylon. The shows take place evenings throughout the week at Smith Point, Cupsogue, Cedar Beach and Meschutt Beach. Shows are held on Saturdays only at Captree Boat Basin and begin at 4:30 p.m. Parking is free after 5 p.m. at Suffolk County Parks and free after 6 p.m. at Captree State Park on weekends.

Musical Happenings on Main Street in Northport

Located at the Northport Village Park, this series sponsored by the Northport Arts Coalition features a diverse slate of live musical acts against the scenic backdrop of Northport Harbor. The weekly performances include bands playing folk, ska, traditional R&B, jazz, and more. The free shows happen every Friday at 7 p.m. until August 30.

Bellport Bandshell’s Summer Concerts

The Bandshell’s Summer Concerts located at the Bellport Village Marina will feature a dozen concerts in genres varying from country music to acoustic folk. Enjoy the surrounding views of Bellport Bay during the weekly Friday concerts, starting at 8 p.m. There will also be two Saturday shows, one on August 10 and August 31, the last show of the series.

Huntington Summer Arts Festival

The Huntington Summer Arts Festival brings free performances to Heckscher Park’s Chapin Rainbow Stage from Tuesdays through Sundays each week. The shows feature artists and ensembles of music, dance and theatre from around the globe, as well as performing arts groups from Huntington and around Long Island. Regular shows begin at 8 p.m. and Tuesday Family Shows begin at 7 p.m. Check the website for a full schedule of events. The festival will run until August 11.

Jones Beach Bandshell’s 2019 Summer Concert Series

The Jones Beach Bandshell, located at Field 4 of Jones Beach, will have a packed slate of free summer entertainment until August 31. The various shows throughout the week include tributes to Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones and more. All shows begin at 8 p.m.
