It’s high season and there’s plenty of events to keep your calendar, belly and cup full this month. From a farm-fresh dinner to a rosé crawl, here are a few great ways to get the most out of June on the North Fork.
North Fork Rosé Crawl
Get ready to rosé all day. The fourth annual North Fork Rosé Crawl is Saturday, June 8, in celebration of National Rosé Day. The self-guided tour offers tastes of rosé and rosé-themed treats at four North Fork wineries. This year’s stops include Bridge Lane Wine, Shinn Estate Vineyards, the Tap Room at Corey Creek and Sherwood House Vineyards. Tickets are $20 and are available at bridgelanewine.com. North Fork Fresh
Sample the best in local food and wine at North Fork Fresh. The annual celebration of summer, hosted by the Oysterponds Historical Society, features tastings from local restaurants, farmers and chefs, along with wines and desserts. Also expect local brews, live music, a raffle and more. North Fork Fresh is set for Saturday, June 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. Visit oysterpondshistoricalsociety.org for tickets.

65th Annual Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival
Hulling night is a true North Fork tradition that kicks off the annual Strawberry Festival held at Strawberry Fields Fairgrounds in Mattituck. Hundreds of community volunteers prepare the berries sold at the festival; afterward, they enjoy the rides, festival food and a brief fireworks display.
Hulling Night is Thursday, June 13, at 5 p.m. The festival continues Friday, June 14 from 5 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Full fireworks displays are planned for Friday and Saturday nights. Dog Dock Diving Festival
It’s a bird, it’s a plane … nope, it’s some seriously athletic dogs flying high during the third annual North Fork Dog Dock Diving Festival. Watch as dozens of dogs leap off a dock into a pool at Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. in Peconic. The brewery and Harbor Pet in Greenport have teamed up for the two-day fundraiser and will donate partial proceeds to America’s VetDogs. In addition to the jumping pups, there will be food and craft beer available for purchase, vendors and live music.
The event is Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for adults are $10 each day — kids under 12 are free — and can be purchased at greenportharborbrewing.com or harbor-pet.com.

Indigo dying workshop at Browder’s Birds
Dip your toe in the water of the ancient process of natural dyeing with indigo at Browder’s Birds in Mattituck Saturday, June 8 at 1 p.m. The three-hour class, led by Fiberhouse Collective founder Nica Rabinowitz, explores resist dyeing techniques using yarn from the farm. Participants may bring their own clothing and fabric to dye blue as well, but they must be made up of natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk or wool). Tickets are $70 and can be purchased here.

North Meets South Farms, Food And Drink Festival
Prepare your palate for a taste of two forks. The first North Meets South Farms, Food and Drink festival is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9, at Long Island Sports Park in Calverton. Expect curated provisions from local farms and bites from East End restaurants, as well as drinks from area breweries, vineyards and cider houses. The family-friendly event will also feature bounce houses and slides, a petting zoo, pony rides, live entertainment, several eating competitions and more. Visit longislandsportspark.com for details.
Farm-To-Table Dinner At Sylvester Manor
Enjoy a phenomenal culinary experience featuring in-season produce and meats from Sylvester Manor, as well as other East End edibles and wines. Guests are invited to dine and dance at the eighth annual Farm-to-Table Benefit. The event is Saturday, June 29, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Shelter Island. Combing the Beach for Natural Treasures
June is the perfect time to uncover the wonders of Orient Beach State Park. The preserve overlooking Gardiners Bay has all the makings for a relaxing beach day, with miles of sandy shores, hiking, biking and kayaking. It is also home to diverse wildlife. Group for the East End is hosting “Combing the Beach for Natural Treasures” at the park Sunday, June 23, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The free, family-friendly event will have you scouring the shoreline for a wide variety of seashells, crab shells and other natural gems. Oyster Farm Tour & Tasting
What does it take to get local oysters on your plate? Learn the process at a working aquaculture farm. Southold Bay Oysters is giving a two-hour guided tour of its hatchery in Southold Friday, June 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. The tour concludes with a waterfront tasting of the farm’s Southold Shindig oysters paired with local wines. Farm to Fizz cocktails at Sparkling Pointe
This time of year, everything is farm fresh — even cocktails. Greenport restaurant Bruce and Son is teaming up with Southold winery Sparkling Pointe for farm fresh, wine-infused cocktails on Friday, June 7 beginning at 4 p.m. Farm to Fizz will feature a flight of three sparkling wine cocktails produced with local ingredients and designed specifically for Sparkling Pointe wines by the team at Bruce and Son. Two-day advanced registration is required. Tickets are $30 for non-wine club members and can be purchased here.
