The smoothies aren’t part of any juicing diets and are filling enough to stave off hunger for several hours. The Green Garden blends kale, apple and banana for a beverage that tastes like harvest in a glass. Other menu top choices include the Mash Up wrap with bean chili and avocado or the Zucchini Alfredo Bowl for when you can’t shake a craving for Italian. The joint is small, but seats are usually available after ordering at the counter.

This North Shore bakery accommodates most dietary needs — customers have reported being able to find vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and even soy-free offerings. The muffins, baked with fresh organic juice and light crumbs, are a hit. The apple pie crumb muffins are sweet, tangy and give mom’s Thanksgiving staple a run for its money, and the raspberry chico chip is quite simply a small piece of heaven. Though the menu is modern, the look is quintessential bakery. Think chalkboard menus and display cases full of goodies begging to be eaten.

Simply Sublime

North Fork residents may have stopped into Simply Sublime’s Cutchogue location, which opened in spring 2018 after serving everything from organic smoothies to vegan ice cream in East Hampton for six years. Those heading to the South Fork can check out the original. Fresh fruits and veggies are a hallmark of the menu there. Guests can spice things up with a SGT Pepper Smoothie, a blend of pear, apple, parsley, lime, jalapeño and honey, or decide for themselves whether avocado toast lives up to the hype. It’s open even in the winter.
