It’s time to raise a glass of Sparkling Pointe bubbly.

The Southold winery received the Best in Class Award for its 2015 Topaz Impérial Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine at the recent Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships awards dinner held in London. 

The wine was one of 116 submissions from around the world awarded a gold medal at the competition. Earning a gold medal allows the wines to advance to compete for the prestigious Best in Class awards. The winery said it’s the first in New York to earn a Best in Class at the competition.

Sparkling Pointe vintners Tom and Cynthia Rosicki and head winemaker Gilles Martin traveled to Merchant Taylor’s Hall in London to accept the award in person.

“It was a privilege to be in London among the best winemakers in the world,” Martin said. “Showing that our small wine region is competing at an international level — it was an honor.”

The winery uses the traditional Méthode Champenoise to produce its award-winning wines, which have earned 90+ point scores from Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. In 2017, Sparkling Pointe was also named “Winery of the Year” at the New York Wine and Food Classic.

2015 Topaz Impérial Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine (the magnum size only) is now available at the Southold tasting room for $90.
