Let’s face it, January isn’t exactly welcomed with open arms in a destination better known for its beaches and seasonal farm stands than skiing.

Bulky jackets and clunky boots make it seem as if we’re suiting up for a battle with the weather, but gray days aren’t so bad when you consider the fun events planned throughout the month.

Here are 10 things to look forward to in January on the North Fork.

New Year’s Day brunch at the Halyard

Start 2019 off on the right foot with brunch at the Halyard on New Year’s Day. The waterfront restaurant is offering a buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $30 per person. Classics like French toast, hash browns and fresh pastries will be available along with a selection of chef specials. Make last-minute reservations now at thehalyardgreenport.com.
