North Fork foodies will want to save the date for this culinary experience at The Halyard.
Chef Sue Torres of the former Sueños restuarant in Chelsea is bringing her signature brand of gourmet Mexican cuisine to the waterfront restaurant for a special five-course dinner pairing with mezcal.
You may recognize Torres for her appearances on “The Martha Stewart Show,” “The Rachael Ray Show” and “Iron Chef America.” She was also featured as a judge on the Food Network competition series show “Chopped.”
For her weekend residency at The Halyard, which begins this Saturday, Aug. 18, Torres will be serving up pan seared scallops and chile de arbol with lime and local greens along with other south-of-the-border-inspired menu items. For $125, each dish comes with a mezcal pairing led by Éva Pelczer of Del Maguey Mezcal.
On Sunday, Aug. 19, Torres will host a $75 cooking class at The Halyard, where she’ll dish on her secrets to making the perfect Mexican cuisine at home.
Both events require reservations. Tickets for the Saturday dinner can be purchased here. And tickets for the Sunday cooking class are available here.
