Fashion designer Alex Vinash is debuting his 2018 Resort Collect in Greenport.

The Argentinian-born designer, who operates a clothing boutique at American Beech in Stirling Square, is unveiling more than 40 new looks at the Greenport American Legion on Saturday, June 2.

“Having the show in Greenport is super special to me,” Vinash said.

His modern, yet elegant designs have previously appeared on the red carpet at the Emmy’s, the Met Gala and the Oscars. He’s also been featured in Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and Vanity Fair — to name a few.

Vinash recently decided to focus solely on resort wear for both men and women, eschewing traditional seasonal collections.

“Resort travels well,” said Brett Pelton, Vinash’s partner and co-owner of American Beech.

The style is chic and relaxed, which is a nod to the North Fork lifestyle, Vinash said. Expect color and floral patterns with hand-embroidered accents at the “Garden of Eden” runway show. Local artwork from Front Street gallery VSOP Projects and North Fork Art Collective will also be displayed during the event.

The tickets start at $10 and benefit both the American Legion’s construction campaign and non-profit Community Action Southold Town (C.A.S.T.), which works to help low-income residents meet their basic needs in the areas of nutrition, employment, energy and education.

The $45 VIP tickets grant front row seats and include a glass of rosé and tapas at the after party at American Beech as well a 10-percent discount at the retail boutique.

The runway show starts at 3 p.m. at the Greenport American Legion located at 121 Third Street. There will also be a cash bar available during the show.

Tickets can be purchased at castsoutholdtown.org.
