The best block party in Mattituck is back.
First Fridays is returning to Love Lane for its fourth season on Friday, May 4. On the first Friday of each month from May through October, the merchants of Love Lane and Pike Street invite the community to taste, sip and shop their way through local provisions.
During this monthly event, special discounts are available at participating businesses from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The all-day deals have also been extended to other businesses in Mattituck off of Love Lane and neighboring hamlets.
The block party starts later in the day from 6 to 9 p.m. on Love Lane. The street will be closed to traffic for the family-friendly evening that features live music, food, drinks, face painting, artisanal goods and more. The shops also keep their doors open a bit later and set up tables outside, offering finger foods or tastings.
Mattituck Chamber of Commerce hosts the free collaborative event that draws hundreds to the hamlet. For working together to create one of the North Fork’s most fun and successful events, the organizers of First Fridays — both the Love Lane merchants who participate and members from the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce — were named Northforker People of the Year for 2017.
